摘 要:

The geodesic approximation to soliton dynamics is extended to situations in which the standard metric is infinite, by considering boundary metrics on soliton moduli spaces. Examples are presented, including a hyperbolic analogue of the Atiyah-Hitchin manifold, relevantto the scattering of a pair of hyperbolic monopoles.

简 介:

Prof. Paul Sutcliffe is a full professor at Durham University in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, UK, obtained his PhD from Durham University in 1992, has been a postdoc at Heriot-Watt University, UK, Cambridge University, UK, and has been appointed as a professor also at Kent University. Paul's research is focussed on topological solitons and numerical and mathematical methods to understanding and characterizing their moduli spaces. Paul has published more than 100 papers in Journal of High Energy Physics, Nature Communications, Physical Review Letters, Communications in Mathematical Physics, Journal of Physics A, Journal of Mathematical Physics, Nonlinearity, Review of Mathematical Physics, Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, Journal of Cosmology and Astrophysics, Physical Review A, Physical Review C, Physical Review D, Physical Review E, Nuclear Physics B, Physics Letters B, Proceedings of the Royal Society of London A, Modern Physics Letters B, Physica D, International Journal of Modern Physics A, International Journal of Modern Physics C with more than 3000 citations in total. Paul is also known for co-authoring the text book "Topological Solitons" with Nick Manton, published in Cambridge Monographs on Mathematical Physics.
